I’m Back…
Let me explain what happened. I accidentally deleted my blog. I decided to override one of my other blogs in order to make a new installation. Unfortunately, even though I typed the url for this other blog I by mistake typed in my tinsilly password and username at the cpanel prompt. So when I thought I was deleting an old blog I never used to make it fresh and clean again I deleted Tinsilly. When I figured out what I had done well I was down hearted from it. It really upset me and of course I had not to think of making a back up nor had any clue how to go about doing such a thing. So everything I had ever posted was gone. This was when I was about to go into hibernation anyways due to that I was staying with my brother and his family for the fall and winter.
I had thought about starting the blog off and on through out the past few months but just didn’t have the gumption to do so. I know all my networking and getting the blog out there to be known by vandwellers has been wasted but oh well. I just couldn’t bring myself to starting over when I wasn’t even traveling. I felt so disappointed over the whole thing.
Why now? Well, spring has sprung. My plan was always to stay for the fall and winter to try and save money. I can’t say I did a very good job of that but my funds are better off for the most part. Not exactly where I would have liked it but then I was helping my family for the first three months so it was only December, January, February and now March that I got to working. The only problem is that I could only find a part time job so half of my pay went to paying room and board.
I have given my two weeks notice and have a trip to Chicago for ten days in April. After that I intend to hit the road again. Right now I’m starting the list of what I will be changing in the minivan to make it more livable. The bed was never comfy and I had many nights where I didn’t get much sleep because of it. So my plan is to splurge on the pricey memory foam topper to at least help me get a good nights rest. I took out the passenger seat and fully intend to create a kitchen there. With a table that has a bottom space for a cooler then a shelf for the white bin that can be used for washing dishes or storage of food and then the top for cutting board space or for table top for dining or a desk for my laptop.
I’m hoping to get solar power but that is the most scary feature to try and accomplish. I might just have to wait on it and go with the jump start battery pack again. The three weeks before my trip to Chicago is going to be spent modding the minivan and downsizing more of my stuff.
My hope is to be able to work along the way somehow earning money through jobs or online. If it turns out the only way to do this lifestyle is by cocooning up for winter saving money working then breaking out of it when spring comes around that is fine too. I haven’t given up on the dream of FREEDOM!
I guess I can now face the empty white page that is Tinsilly and look forward to filling it with adventures I will soon be having. Not having to just look back on prior experiences. *Raises a glass to SPRING and the newness it brings, with a fresh scent of exploration on the horizon*
